Excavation

Remove 50mm-100mm (2-4 inches) of the existing top layer of turf, depending on ground conditions.

Wooden Batons

Place treated 50mm x 25mm (2 x 1 inch) wooden batons around the perimeter of the installation area, including around any flower beds inside the fitting area. The artificial grass will be secured to these once the base is prepared.

Aggregates 1

Fill the area with Type 1 MOT crushed rock to a depth of about 50mm (approximately 2 inches) then compact using a vibration plate.

Weed Membrane

Cover the crushed rock with a weed membrane.

Aggregates 2

Use sharp sand (approximately 1 – 1.5 inch) to cover the weed membrane to bring the base height level with the batons, and compact again.

Fitting & Securing

Lay the artificial grass over the completed base, trim to shape around the perimeter, cut in flower beds or obstacles then secure to the batons. If you need to join the artificial grass make sure all the edges are secured first to stop any movement while the glue is setting. Use adhesive and joining tape specifically made for artificial grass seaming.

Concrete, Decking or Patio

If the installation is onto either patio, decking or concrete bases the grass can be secured around the edges.

Testimonials

"Great work carried out on the lounge flooring & garden, helpful & friendly staff in the office / showroom & the team performing the work. Lovely job." - Mr Rundell, Bradwell

"We decided to replace our grass several years ago with stones to make our lives easier - we aren't getting any younger! After a few years although low maintenance we found the stones to be dull to look at. Artificial grass is just as low maintenance. But much more pleasing to the eye. We did have quotations and although not the very cheapest, Grosvenor Grass seem to have been around for a long time so we felt that they would offer a good service. They made a lovely job and the team were nice and polite." - Mr and Mrs Baldock, Wymondham

"We would like to say how pleased we are with our New Lawn, cannot believe the transformation, and the reaction from friends and neighbours. Also we wouldlike to thank the team(s)who did all the work they were a pleasure to have around a great bunch of Lads, and so Tidy Would have no trouble in reccommndig your company, We still have an old fashioned bit of lawn so watch this space!" - Mr Bowden, Hingham

"My husband works away a lot and we have three children. Our garden always look untidy. Since having Grosvenor Grass transform our garden, we now have a garden that the children can enjoy and we don't have to maintain it, giving us more family time.
